This novel takes place in a dystopian American society where books are outlawed, and firemen are required to burn books. Ray Bradbury (author) follows a fireman who comes across a book and become a fugitive to the law.

Macbeth
This iconic Shakespeare novel follows the story of an ambitious man who is greedy for the throne. He goes out of his way to bend his loyalty to throne as well as his dear friends. The tragedy has a wonderful twist nearing the conclusion as Macbeth fights his final battle.

Station Eleven
After a flu wipes out 98% of the world's population, the few remaining survivors struggle to rebuild society and live life without the glamour and luxuries of technology. Emily St. John Mandel follows a Symphony who learns to hunt, fight, and survive, as they encounter the effects of the flu.

Medicine Walk
This novel, written by Indigenous author, Richard Wagamese follows the point of view of a young indigenous boy who takes his father on his last journey to be buried in the traditional way. The boy struggles with his father's alcoholic ways, but is able to build a father-son connection with him as the story progresses.

Indian Horse
Also written by Richard Wagamese, this novel highlights the struggles of growing up an Indigenous, as Wagamese emphasizes the dark past of Canada's history as well as its treatment to the Indigenous peoples. Saul finds himself in a residential school where the physical and sexual abuse follow him throughout his life.

Death of a Salesman
A play written by Arthur Miller follows a man named Willy Loman, who is constantly searching for success and pushing his sons to be more successful. This delightful story is very relatable to individuals who have experienced the pressures from not only their parents but themselves as well.

Written by C.S. Lewis, Narnia explores an alternate world visited by 4 children through a wardrobe. Their courageous adventures lead them to meet new creatures and together they join to defeat the evils that lurk the land and save Narnia.

In this dystopian novel, a group of teenage boys come together, after learning they are surrounded by a maze, to search for a way out.

Birthmarked
In this futuristic, dystopian novel written by Caragh M. O'Brien, only perfect new born infants live inside "the wall" where a privileged society lives peacefully. Outside of the wall is Gaia Stone, a 16 year old girl who has a burn-scar on her face, who's job is to deliver babies from outside "the wall" and hand them over to the privileged society. One day, Gaia's mother is arrested and taken inside the wall, forcing Gaia to break into "the wall" and learn the real truth behind the socety she live in.
